It's been a minute, but I hope you're enjoying the spring weather (if you're in the States) or whatever the weather is bringing you currently where you live.
It's also been a minute since I promised I'd bring some different spirits into the mix here at Bourbony. So, here's a gin-based sipper that I came up with yesterday. Yes, it does have bourbon in it, but just a touch, so I think it still counts as a non-bourbon drink.
The Tea & Timber Cocktail
This one’s built around a liqueur I made by steeping chai and matcha teas, sweetening with rich syrup, and adding just enough bourbon to bring it to about 20% ABV. It’s earthy, spicy, a little smoky—and it begged for something botanical to pull it all together.
The rosemary adds a dry, herbal lift that cuts through the chai spice and matcha earthiness, pairing effortlessly with gin. The bitters keep it grounded, and a lemon touch (if used) brightens the finish.
The result is Tea & Timber: soft, spiced, herbal, and unmistakably unique. It’s a forest walk in cocktail form.
